Essar Algoma gets go-ahead for sale
Troubled Canadian steelmaker Essar Steel Algoma is free to pursue its sales and investment solicitation plan to lift itself out of bankruptcy protection, Kallanish understands from an Ontario Superior Court ruling.
Essar sought approval from an Ontario Superior Court judge 9 February to proceed with its plan. The company will accept bids on its operation in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, through 15 May.
