Environmental groups plan US Steel lawsuit
Two environmental groups are suing US Steel over alleged noncompliance with the the federal Clean Air Act related to a fire at the company’s Clairton Coke Works on 24 December in Pennsylvania, Kallanish reports.
PennEnvironment and the Clean Air Council allege that US Steel is “...producing and using coke oven gas without filtering it through necessary pollution controls,” according to a joint press release.
