Energy tubulars market in US faces uncertainty
The energy tubulars market in the US faces uncertainty with skelp prices declining, dwindling inventories, and overall solid demand.
Pricing for hot-rolled skelp has started to slide, with prices dropping to $1,800-1850/short ton, fob mill, last week. Prices are down from record highs of $1,970/st in September.
At the same time, prices for scrap have begun to rise, with November prices for shredded $50-65/gross ton higher than in October.
