Electrode producers seen keeping pace with demand surge
Demand for graphite electrodes and their major input material, needle coke, is likely to increase in future, not least because new steelmaking capacity in China is set to be EAF-based due to environmental restrictions. However, electrode producers will keep pace with these demand changes and the current high electrode prices are unlikely to last long. So says CRU consultant Dawn Brooks.
