El Marakby Steel becomes billet self-sufficient
Egyptian rebar re-roller El Marakby Steel has officially inaugurated its new 350,000 tonnes/year plant to become self-sufficient in billet, Kallanish learns from the supplier of the technology, SMS.
The steel plant comprises a raw materials handling system, 45-tonne EAF, ladle furnace with a transformer rating of 8 MVA + 20%, and a three-strand billet caster.
