El Hadjar gets new president amid financial issues
Last week Algerian authorities nominated a new president/director for integrated steelmaker El Hadjar, Kallanish learns from the state-owned press agency.
The new president, Rédha Belhadj, said as soon as he was named that the company was in need of restructuring its finances. The previous management team was let go after the discovery of large debt, followed by the blocking by local authorities of the company’s accounts.
