Egypt's rebar consumption rebounds
Egyptian rebar consumption increased in May and returned to its average rate, thanks to Egyptian mills lowering their rebar quotes twice during the month, Kallanish notes.
According to El Marakby Steel chief business development officer Ramy Saleh, May rebar consumption increased by 26% on-month and 13% on-year to 632,500 tonnes, against 503,200t in April and 559,400t in May 2021.
