Egyptian Steel produces first heat at Ain Sokhna
Egyptian Steel has produced the first heat at its new Ain Sokhna rebar steelworks, Kallanish learns from Danieli which supplied the “MiDa” micro-mill for the plant.
The mill has an 830,000 tonnes/year crude steel and 530,000 t/y rebar production capacity, a carbon copy of the Danieli-supplied “MiDa” mill at Egyptian Steel’s Beni Suef steelworks, commissioned in 2016. Rebar in bundles are produced in endless casting and rolling mode …
