Egyptian rebar sales slump, crude output remains higher
Egyptian domestic market rebar sales slumped -34% on-year in July to 439,000 tonnes, according to the latest Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data monitored by Kallanish. This was also down -33% from June.
The average price of July sales fell -16% on-year to EGP 9,862/tonne ($629). This was also down -1% on-month.
Rebar production in Egypt, meanwhile, fell -28% in July to 500,800t. Crude steel output however rose 1.7% to 534,000t, according to worldsteel data. Th…
