Egyptian rebar sales fall but prices rise
Egyptian domestic market rebar sales fell -5% on-year in November 2018 to 612,000 tonnes, their third-lowest monthly tonnage so far in 2018. This is according to the latest Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data monitored by Kallanish.
The average price of these sales, however, rose 1% on-year to EGP 12,134/tonne ($691.6).
Rebar production dropped -4% in November to 632,500t. Crude steel output that month, however, rose 11% to 674,000t, according to worldsteel…
