Egyptian rebar output rises despite sales dip
Egyptian domestic market rebar sales declined -3% on-year in September to 552,300 tonnes, rebounding from a 19-month low in August but still their second-lowest tonnage in 2018. This is according to the latest Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data monitored by Kallanish.
The average price of these sales rose 7% on-year to EGP 12,288/tonne ($684), but this was still below the all-time high in April.
