Egyptian exports slump despite Spain surge
The value of Egyptian steel exports slumped -43% on-year in January-May to $207 million, according to Egypt’s Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metallurgy Industries.
Five-month shipments to Saudi Arabia declined -32% on-year to $67.3m but those to Spain rose 39% to $19.93m. Italy-bound exports fell -21% to $17.6m.
Completing the top five destinations, exports to the Netherlands surged 270% to $14.4m and to Kenya they rose 31% to $12.9…
