Egypt hikes scrap imports from the Benelux
EU28 ferrous scrap exports to Egypt surged 48% on-year in July to 147,488 tonnes due to supply increases from Belgium and the Netherlands, according to Eurostat data monitored by Kallanish.
The UK remained the main supplier with 72,296t, although this was down -27% on July 2017. The Netherlands and Belgium supplied 39,520t and 30,573t respectively versus zero each last year.
