Domestic shortage pushes Brazil to continue importing scrap
Brazilian ferrous scrap imports continued to increase in February, Kallanish notes. Growth was supported by lower availability of scrap in the domestic market following the recovery in consumption.
According to Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, the country imported 63,700 tonnes of scrap in February, up 87.9% on-month and 62,500t higher year-on-year.
