Domestic market lifts Chinese wire rod export prices
Strong local steel prices have also led to rising prices for Chinese wire rod exports, Kallanish notes. Wire rod export transactions, however, remain at low levels this week, and Chinese wire rod export prices continue to distance themselves from buyers’ expectations.
On Thursday, 6.5mm diameter mesh grade wire rod was assessed at $475/tonne fob China, up $10/t from the previous week.
