Domestic demand drives up Cemtas' 2016 sales

Turkish alloy steelmaker Cemtas posted a 17% year-on-year increase in sales to 150,490 tonnes in 2016. The growth was supported by a higher increase in domestic sales than export sales, the company says in its full-year activity report. Cemtas' domestic sales grew 20% to 86,469t last year, including 44t of billet shipments, although the pace of growth of Turkey's automotive industry production slowed down to 9% in 2016 from 16% in 2015.
