Kardemir net profit slumps despite increased sales
Kardemir reported a 2.5% on-year increase in primary product sales in January-September 2019 to 1.67 million tonnes, despite a -6.2% drop in liquid steel output to 1.70mt, Kallanish notes.
Pig iron sales were halved on-year to 14,824t, while rolled steel products’ sales remained almost stable at 933,146t.
In the nine months, TRY 363 million ($63.2m) was spent on investments, of which TRY 55.5m was for environmental investments.
