Daido Steel targets more high-grade steel

Japan’s Daido Steel has installed a new vacuum arc remelting (VAR) furnace at its Shibukawa Plant in Gunma Prefecture, with an investment of JPY 750 million ($5.08m), Kallanish notes. The company expects a demand hike for high-grade steel such as nickel-based alloys and clean stainless steel.
