Costlier energy sparks Sidenor, Iberdrola confrontation
Special steelmaker Sidenor says it has not transferred a price increase to customers as a result of higher energy costs in Spain. The steelmaker also denies buying electricity through a fixed-price contract and says it has not received any offer from Spanish electricity utility Iberdrola to address the costlier energy.
Sidenor’s statement comes in response to claims Iberdrola has made over Sidenor’s activity, Kallanish notes.
