Costlier power tariffs hurt West Bengal steel mills
The recent power tariff hike by Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has made steel and ferroalloys production costlier in the West Bengal state of India, market sources tell Kallanish.
According to local media reports citing industry sources, DVC’s tariff is now INR 6.5/unit ($0.08) in West Bengal, which is more than INR 2/unit costlier than the neighbouring Jharkhand state.
