Conditions remain challenging for Brazilian steel producers
Brazilian crude steel production fell again year-on-year in July 2016 according to statistics released by steel association Aço Brasil and monitored by Kallanish. National apparent steel consumption also declined in a month which saw imports and exports also both tumble compared to July 2015.
Crude steel output in July was 2.1 million tonnes, a fall of -6.0% y-o-y. Production of rolled steel also dipped, although more modestly by just -0.4% to 1.9mt. Year…
