Colakoglu sets stainless steelmaking records
Turkey's Colakoglu Metalurji has achieved outstanding results with its new vacuum oxygen decarburization (VOD) plant supplied by Primetals in late 2020, the technology supplier says.
The VOD plant has achieved a heat size of 298.2 tonnes – a world record in stainless steel making, according to Primetals. In addition to this, the plant reached a carbon content of 5 parts per million after decarburisation, which is another world record for VOD plants.…
