Coking coal rebounds on Chinese mine suspension
Australian fob coking coal prices rebounded during the week ended 17 November as China suspended some coal mines following recent accidents. This led to some panic buying.
Kallanish assessed premium hard coking coal at $325.11/tonne fob Australia, surging $31.02/t from $294.09/t fob the previous week.
On the Singapore Exchange, Premium Coking Coal Futures for December settled at $323/t fob on Friday, rising $23/t from $300/t fob a weak earlier.
