Coking coal rebounds as Noble starts legal fight
Noble Group has filed a claim for damages against Yancoal Australia and Gloucester Coal. Coking coal prices, meanwhile, appear to be strengthening a little again after weeks of slow decline, Kallanish notes.
Noble is claiming $127 million for alleged breach of contract under a coal marketing agreement. None of the parties have yet given meaningful comment on the issue and the issue is unlikely to be resolved in the near term.
