Coking coal prices jump
Seaborne coking coal prices are enjoying a continued rally on the back of improving Chinese sentiment and stronger commodity prices. Activity on the globalCOAL trading platform is also continuing as the volatile market spurs spot buying, Kallanish notes.
75,000t of unbranded hard coking coal sold on globalCOAL at $95/tonne fob Australia on Thursday for May delivery. That compares with a similar trade at $89.50/t fob on Monday.
