Coking coal prices firm
Coking coal prices have firmed modestly over recent weeks alongside higher iron ore prices and currency fluctuations. Prices are unlikely to recover much further, however, Kallanish notes.
75,000 tonnes of hard coking coal traded on GlobalCoal at $76.50/tonne fob Australia on Monday. Similar material traded at $74/t on 1 February, while branded coking coal traded at $77.50/t a week ago.
