Coal India shipments rise as steel output recovers
Coal India (CIL)’s provisional production rose 14.1% on-year to 42.6 million tonnes in July and coal off-take performance grew 16.7% to 50.5mt. Off-take to the power sector for July was at 39mt, and at 11.5mt to the steel, cement, and non-power industries.
The firm’s cumulative production and off-take performance in April-July stood at 166.6mt and 210.8mt respectively, up 5.2% and 28.4% on-year, Kallanish notes.
