CMC Poland shipments fall but profit soars
CMC Poland saw a -26% on-year reduction in rebar shipments in the third fiscal quarter through May to 79,000 short tons due to increased rebar imports into Poland, US parent CMC says. Sales of merchant bar fell -2% to 241,000st.
Nevertheless, net sales in the quarter surged 20% to $201.74 million and adjusted operating profit ballooned 88% to $24.4m thanks to increased sales prices and higher valued-added product sales.
