Cliffs, USW sign labour agreement
US iron ore miner Cliffs Natural Resources has inked a new labour agreement with the United Steelworkers (USW) union, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The three-year agreement takes effect 1 October and covers about 2,000 USW members at the companies Tilden and Empire mines in Michigan and its United Taconite and Hibbing Taconite mines in Minnesota.
The agreement is still subject to a USW ratification vote.
