CIS steel output rebounds in January, falls on-year
CIS crude steel production decreased in January, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Regional output amounted to 6.5 million tonnes, down by 25% year-on-year.
In December, CIS production was at 6.2mt, down by 28.4% (see Kallanish passim). In full-year 2022, output was down by 20.2% on-year at 85.2mt.
Russian production last month is estimated to have decreased by 8.9% to 5.58mt.
