Russia recovery improves CIS 2017 demand forecast: worldsteel

The World Steel Association forecasts CIS finished steel demand to rise 3.2% on-year in 2017 to 50.2 million tonnes. This is a revision up from worldsteel’s October short-range-outlook forecast of 2.1%. CIS demand in 2016, however, declined more steeply than previously forecast, by -4.1% on-year to 48.7mt.
