CIS slab prices rebound tentatively
The Black Sea merchant slab export market is showing signs of recovery, having bottomed at $670/tonne fob about two weeks ago.
There had been a relatively short pause in purchasing in the wake of around 100,000 tonnes of Ukrainian slab being sold in the Mediterranean and northern Europe in the third week of September. Thereafter, more CIS slab was traded at slightly higher prices.
