CIS pig iron stagnates, buyers seek cheaper alternatives
CIS merchant pig iron exports remain subdued, as the standoff between US buyers and CIS sellers continues, Kallanish notes.
Offer indications are around $20/tonne lower on-week, however, and at $680/tonne cfr Nola, there is apparently only one Russian mill that is offering July-production volumes. Ukrainian suppliers are also understood to have some July production remaining, but these volumes were very small.
