CIS output rebounds at the beginning of 2022
CIS crude steel production increased in January, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Regional output amounted to an estimated 9 million tonnes, up by 2% year-on-year.
In December, production was 8.9mt, down by 3% (see Kallanish passim). In full-year 2021, output rose 5.6% on-year to 105.6mt.
Russian production last month is estimated to have been at 6.6mt, more by 3.3%.
