Turkey becomes net importer, exports behind target: CIB
Turkey has become a net importer of steel products amid difficult conditions in 2023, points out the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB).
At a recent meeting with CIB chairman Adnan Aslan and board members, it was announced that Turkish steel exports decreased by 31.2% on-year in the first 11 months of 2023 to $13.43 billion. They were $19.69 billion a year earlier. In tonnage terms, they fell 28.8% to 13.055 million tonnes.
