Chromite output growth slows, ferrochrome nearing capacity: ICDA
Global chrome ore production growth has slowed in 2019 after two years of consecutive growth acceleration in 2017 and 2018, says Victor Constant, senior analyst at the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA).
Largest producer South Africa, however, did see output grow 3% on-year in the first half of 2019 to 9.8 million tonnes after a historical high in full-year 2018 of 18.9mt.
