Choo Bee’s profit down in first quarter
Malaysian steel products maker Choo Bee Metal Industries has reported lower earnings for the first quarter ended 31 March, 2024, amid lower revenue, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a bourse filing that its net profit plunged 48.69% year-on-year to MYR 1.86 million ($394,000) in the first quarter. This was mainly due to weaker sales volume and average selling prices offsetting the improved profit margins on the back of lower average raw material costs.
