Chongqing Steel restarts No.2 blast furnace
China’s Chongqing Iron & Steel (Chonggang) held a ceremony on 16 October to celebrate the restart of production at its No.2 blast furnace, Kallanish notes.
MCC Baosteel Technology Services Company had been contracted to increase capacity at the furnace to 1.78 million tonnes/year of iron. The construction period for the work was 120 days. The No.2 BF had originally halted production at the beginning of 2015.
