Chinese wire rod prices continue to fall
China’s wire rod export market remains under pressure, and the declining domestic market has undercut support for high export offers.
Most export offers were maintained at $840/tonne fob China this week. The mills maintaining prices have largely completed planned export volumes, so they are not eager to accept low-priced orders. Offers from a few Hebei steel mills have however dropped to $810/t fob China.
