Chinese wire rod exports fall on weak demand

The Chinese wire rod export market has been subdued over the past two weeks, with very few transactions reported. Kallanish assessed 6.5mm diameter mesh-grade wire rod at $540-545/tonne fob China, down $5/t from last week. The drop in domestic steel prices has also had a negative impact on export prices, with mills lowering their offers.
