Chinese wire rod exporters expect stronger autumn
Chinese wire rod export offers this week increased as domestic prices rose sharply. Exporters are anticipating stronger demand in the coming weeks, as they have seen fewer deals in August, Kallanish notes.
6.5mm diameter mesh grade wire rod was assessed at $580-585/tonne fob China, higher by $5/t compared with last week. Market sources heard one state-owned-enterprise signed a contract at $584/t fob China for September shipment.
