Chinese wire rod export prices remain firm
The Chinese wire rod export market has remained stable this week, and there was little activity in the export market, Kallanish notes.
Wire rod exporters in northern China kept offers at $470/tonne fob China, but they are not looking for export orders, a trader says. This is mainly because the outlook for domestic steel demand has remained positive. The end of the rainy season and a reduction in supply has eased market pressure, supporting steel prices.
