Chinese wire rod export prices pick up slightly
China's wire rod export prices have picked up slightly this week as domestic prices have also risen, Kallanish notes. Steel mills reduced output due to delayed resumption of work, and this has helped reduce pressure on traders from the supply side.
On Thursday, 6.5mm diameter mesh grade wire rod was assessed at $440-445/tonne fob China, up $2.5/t week-on-week.
