Chinese wire rod export prices approach costs
China's wire rod export prices have kept declining with minimal demand, Kallanish notes. Due to the continued spread of Covid-19, overseas wire rod demand has been at a low level for some time.
A source at a steel mill tells Kallanish: "Now it is not a problem of price but of demand." He said steel mills have seen that sales prices are almost close to production costs, but, even so, it is difficult to secure deals.
