Chinese wire rod export offers slump on demand
The Chinese wire rod export market has ended a period of stability and has begun to fall this week, Kallanish notes. Lower bids have finally forced steel mills to cut prices to conclude deals.
On Thursday, 6.5mm diameter mesh grade wire rod is assessed at $450-455/tonne fob China, down $15/t from previous week.
