Chinese steelmakers’ profits soar through April
China’s ferrous metal smelting and rolling industry profits soared 416% to CNY 152.98 billion ($24 billion) in January-April 2021, compared with CNY 77.45 billion in the same period last year, Kallanish notes from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The industry’s profit ranked second among 41 major industrial sectors in China. In the given period, the industry’s revenue came to CNY 2.94 trillion, an increase of 51.7% on-year.
