Chinese steelmakers invest in Caofeidian iron ore centre
China National Metals and Minerals Import and Export Corporation (Minmetals), Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang), Shougang Group and China Cosco Shipping signed a cooperation agreement with Caofeidian Harbour on 3 November. The four steelmakers and shipping companies will jointly invest in building up an international ores trading centre in Caofeidian Harbour, according to the Minmetals announcement, Kallanish notes.
