Chinese steel futures rebound but outlook still bleak
Chinese steel futures prices saw a modest rebound on Wednesday after collapsing to historic lows on Monday. Reports from a research trip by Macquarie gave little cause for optimism however, Kallanish notes.
The May rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed up CNY 13/tonne at CNY 1,676/t ($262/t), while the January contract for hot rolled coil closed up 31/t at CNY 1,744/t.
