China waits longer for large-scale steel production cuts
Some Chinese steel mills have taken the initiative to cut steel production due to low profit, but the overall impact may not be as much as expected, Kallanish notes.
In late September, daily crude steel production of the China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) members slipped 3.15% on-period to 2.07 million tonnes, which was also 3.05% lower than a year earlier. This is the second lowest output since Chinese New Year this year after late August.
