Chinese steel mills cut or retain rebar prices
Major Chinese steel companies have either retained or cut by CNY 20-50/tonne ($3.1-7.75) their mid-September rebar ex-work prices. This is the first time mills have decreased offers since mid-June and follows an almost three-month long continuous uptrend.
Last week on futures markets rebar fell for four days in a row from Tuesday. However, in eastern China some steel enterprises still lifted other construction steel product prices, Kallanish notes.
